Classes

Beginner Beekeeping Class

The Beginner Beekeeping Classes are for people who have little to no experience with keeping honey bees.  We cover topics such as:

  • Honey Bee Biology
  • Hive Equipment
  • 4 Season Procedures
  • Extraction
  • Pests & Diseases

We offer these classes in two forms – an online class or a brick & mortar three-day classroom experience located in Deer Park, WA.  Both class options offer “hands-on” field days, either through online videos or at a bee yard hosted by BeeManiacs in Deer Park, WA.

Our goal in the Beginner Beekeeping Class is to provide our students with the most relevant and detailed education in order to promote the highest success rate while they begin tending their bees.  Our education, married with ‘hands-on” field days (or bee yard videos), will equip our students with the best practices needed to become confident, successful beekeepers.

The class is $30 per individual and covers all education for the Beginner class, the field days and the Intermediate class for all 2nd year and above beekeepers.  We hope you will join us as we learn more about honey bees and the art of beekeeping!

Intermediate Beekeeping Class

The Intermediate class is for people who have experience keeping bees for at least a year and would like to continue a more in-depth education.  This class will cover topics like:

  • Overwintering Bee Spring Management
  • Making Splits & Queen Rearing
  • Swarm Prevention & Catching Swarms
  • Mite & Disease Management

This class is offered in two forms – a soon to be launched online class or a one day, brick and mortar classroom experience located in Deer Park, WA.  Both class options offer “hands-on” field days, either through online videos or at a bee yard hosted by BeeManiacs in Deer Park, WA.
